Costa Rica vs. Thailand

I've been thinking for quite some time about visiting my aunt & uncle in Nongkhai, Thailand sometime post graduation. However, a friend put a bug in my ear about some volunteer work in Costa Rica. And now, like many things...I don't know.

I've been looking forward to going to Thailand for many reasons...to experience Buddhism...to experience an eastern culture...and to eat delicious Thai food cooked by my Aunt Boon Mee! I'm also told traffic can be huge on the street where they live. (See more Thai photos)

But now Costa Rica has presented itself. The volunteer work is done at night with most of the day free because the needy population comes ashore after dark for nesting. Apparently, there are several programs for sea turtle preservation that offer volunteer sessions.
The good news about Costa Rica is that I would have the chance to speak a lot of Spanish...and help little guys like these have a safe trip to the sea before poachers can steal them as eggs. And besides...who can pass up a face like this.

(none of these photos were taken by me)
