Week 1 of the new job

I've survived my first week at my new job. I'm very excited about the opportunity and look forward to many new things.

The first week has been an experience unlike any I've ever had at a job before. I started the same day as new cubicles and office furniture arrived. Then the new phone and internet installation began. Finally after one week, I have a working phone and internet connection...and even email! And I'll have business cards soon, too. It's just so exciting.

I'm still a little overwhelmed as it is still pretty hectic with installation guys and techs...both, I might add, I'm very glad are available to help. I do have a really comfortable new desk chair and I'm about to place an order for some of the other cozy office paraphernalia like a foot rest and a magnetic paper clip holder. Ahh, it's the little things in life.

The really cool thing about starting this job is that I've known everyone that works there for a very long time and so there was no nervousness about trying to remember names and know where to park, etc. I was able to walk in and interact with everyone like I've known them for 10 years...well, that's because I have known most of them for 10 years!

Anyway, I'm so excited about the new opportunities that lie ahead and I'm very eager to make the best out of this job experience, as I try to do in everything.

Just a side note...since I'm working in an office now, will I start to understand Dilbert cartoons?
