Why people live longer than dogs

I received this in an email and I thought it was a very interesting perspective as to why we lose our dogs before we're ready. I shortened the story for easy reading...yes, I can do that in writing!

"People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life -- like loving everybody all the time and being nice. Dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long."
