I had a wonderful weekend with a few notable moments. I was at the Red River Gorge volunteering on a staircase build on the Grey’s Arch trail. Because I’m not a carpenter, my efforts were better suited to that of a pack mule. I made many trips with lumber and tools but had quite a bit of time to spare while the build was in progress.
I spent a bit of this time lounging on a bed of pine needles at a small overlook with my pack for a pillow. I just looked out over the forest and watched the leaves tremble. In the center of my view was a beautiful Sourwood in full bloom that mesmerized me. In a sea of green I watched a splash of cream until I drifted into a dream.
Ok, that little rhyme just happened by accident. Kinda fun though.
After all that work, I spent the evening around a campfire laughing with some of the best people in the world - Red River Gorge Trail Crew.
FYI: Car news soon to come!
