At the top, we stopped to enjoy the view and have a snack. I had some cashews. And partly because of the excitement of being at the top of Raven's Rock, I was a little messy with my nuts.
Hmmmmm...moving right along.
My friends and I were chatting about movies, books, and writers and all of a sudden I noticed a cashew moving (quite quickly, I might add) right under my legs. Pulling with all his might was a little red ant. This ant was remarkable. It carried the cashew halfway across the rock slab lookout and right over the edge. We never did really figure out where that little tenacious dude was going but he was going there in a hurry. He didn't let the carvings in the rock slow him down or when the nut was so heavy he went tumbling down the rock. It was truly amazing. I snapped a couple of shots of the little guy and his cashew while he was still in our area, unfortunately I just wasn't dedicated to photography enough that day to follow him over the edge.

Hope the kid got home all right.
