What is happening to me?

I'm frightened Auntie Em, I'm frightened.

So I've graduated and I love being able to say..."well, back in college I yadda yadda yadda." However, apparently this has led to some bizarre life change because I'm doing things that I didn't think I would do.

First, I'm buying an SUV...[choke] I know. I'm ashamed of myself but it was the best bang for my buck and that's important on a new graduate's budget. And the mileage isn't terrible...it's not a Suburban or a Hummer. It gets 27 highway and like 22 city. Comparable to the wagons I was looking at, save the Toyota Matrix or Pontiac Vibe...but I couldn't see out the back of those. Apparently good gas mileage isn't designed for short people.

The other thing I can't believe I've done is join myspace.com. Geeesh. I've done so well at resisting the myspace pressure but alas I am weak.

What's next? Shopping at the mall. Oh lord, just shoot me.

Ode to a college student

There once was a college student
Who loved the outdoors
The hiking, the flowers
The smell of the spring pores

With the wonder of youth
And the soul of a tree hugger
All her friends had to wonder
If her interests would tugher

To a job that would be
Of the outdoors type you see
A job she would love
And with nature she be.

But alas something happened
A great job came along
Who’s pay was quite awesome
And made her sing a new song

So now here we see
And its so shocking to me
Her friends say can it be?
Yes, she now owns an SUV!
