Anything between here an there?

I’m meeting a friend “halfway” this weekend. He’s coming from Louisville and I’ll be coming from good ‘ole Versailles so we had the idea to meet halfway in Frankfort or Shelbyville or anywhere in between that has something interesting to do.

But I can’t really find anything for us to do there. I’m sure there has to be the something strange and fun like the “International Museum of Watermelon Seed Spitting” or something equally strange where we could have a blast for a day. I mean, we are in Kentucky, there has to be something interesting.

Let me know if you have an idea of something fun for us to do between Versailles and Louisville. I could use some help. And because I’m weird, I’d really prefer something out of the ordinary.

Different, huh? For the animal lovers, how about Buffalo Crossing Fun Ranch just north of Shelbyville (http://www.buffalocrossing.com/). I've never been there, but they say it is a hoot. For the history lover, try the Kentucky Hostory museum in downtown Frankfort (http://history.ky.gov/)...

Or, my personal favorite, combine both Buffalo and History (sort of) and check out Buffalo Trace Distillery (http://www.buffalotrace.com/), also in Frankfort. There you can take a tour and learn all about the process of bourbon making and the history of America's national drink (declared so by an act of Congress in 1964).

Enjoy responsibly and have fun wherever you go!
