a kayak is way more fun. I just had my first whitewater experience. I paddled a hard boat in the Elkhorn at 2 1/2 feet.
Ha! I don't think I can talk the talk just yet...that was what they told me I "could say" now. But the truth is that I paddled all the hard stuff in an inflatable kayak duckie. This is super stable and excellent for beginners...I guess, since that's what they put me in. I didn't swim so it worked for me.
I really did paddle in a smaller "real" kayak. One of the guys traded boats with me on an easy section of the creek so I could feel what it was like. I did have to paddle "the claw" in the smaller boat and I must say...I liked it! I don't know how to roll & all that jazz but I liked being in the smaller boat with better maneuverablity. [is that a word?]
So my upper body is whooped and I'm having a nice relaxing evening at home. And I'm seriously considering paddling tomorrow too. I want to make sure the fun wasn't just luck!
