Thread Count

Because it seems that I never have enough pillowcases, I bought a couple extras yesterday. For the first time in my life I purchased bedding based on thread count. Of course I had no idea what I was doing, so I called my mom to ask if 250 thread count was decent.

I bought them and after the first night with the new pillowcases, I think I’m missing my old ones. The new ones are so soft and slippery I was afraid my face would slide right off the bed. The old ones were more like Velcro and kept my head firmly in place. I briefly woke up in the night and was shuffling my pillows around for better comfort when one of the new pillowcased pillows went shooting right off the bed! I laughed and went back to sleep.

Now I’m really concerned because 250 thread count isn’t a lot. I saw some in the store that were 400 (but I was too cheap to spring the bucks). And I only have the pillowcases…I can’t imagine having the whole kit-and-kaboodle on my bed. I’d be afraid to move for fear of slipping right off!

Maybe I’ll get used to the new fancy pillowcases…or maybe I’ll just use them for sledding this winter.

Velcro for your face? Really?

C'mon! Live a little! Treat yourself to some nice new soft slumber duds. 600 Thread Count minimum! My money has you ditching your old scratchy bed threads in favor of your new found luxury linens right after your next paycheck. Tell yourself you deserve it!

Besides, you can always use your Velcro shams when camping... you know - for when you want to feel like you are roughing it!

Roughing it?!? Scratchy?!? Rough?!?....

OK.. Never mind...

Just enjoy your new linens and wear a seatbelt to bed!

You're correct....250 thread count isn't alot. Once you sleep on 300-400 count sheets you won't want to sleep on anything else! The high thread count sheets are like sleeping on silk. They are more expensive but they are worth it!
