Thailand January 2008

I've completed step one of my plans to travel to Thailand...and I'm really excited. My uncle answered my email about when the best time to visit is considering the weather, etc. The word is January is the best time...its cool there without much rain. When I say cool I mean it's 80.

I am a little bummed that my trip is a whole year away but it will give me time to learn the language and do some research about what I want to do once I get there. Visiting a Buddhist temple and eating tons of delicious Thai food is a given but I'll have to decide what else. I also want to go to the market with my uncle daily so I can experience the community atmosphere. I think I'd also like to go on some sort of a guided trek. I have to research where they live...I sure hope there is a volcano or mountain or something in their region.

OOOOHHHHH! I'm so excited! Lots of work to do in the next year. And the good news is that I'll have 2 weeks vacation before July. I think I'll probably spend one week on the Sheltowee Trace...the other....hmmm....not sure....maybe a week on the AT somewhere.

So many options. I love life.
