Callaway Gardens: Fantasy in Lights

I just arrived home from a whirlwind trip to Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Georgia. A group from work went to get ideas for Southern Lights.

Here's an idea...Callaway Gardens is amazing.

The light show is phenomenonal...it is complete with sound that corresponds with each display group. They also have the advantage of having the displays in the forest where there is impeccable darkness. At the Kentucky Horse Park, we have light pollution from buildings and the interstate. Certainly not the end of the world, but a slight disadvantage with some of the displays.

Callway is also a full spa and resort so the idea is to go there for more than one night...whereas Southern Lights is intended to be done in one night.

We did also learn some great ideas about handling traffic, ticket sales, and adding new "depth" to our display route.

It was also a great trip because I got to learn more about some of the people I work with and see a more personal side. All in all, it was a great trip and I definately recommend Callaway Gardens as a destination trip.

I'll post some pictures but I haven't even begun to pull them off my camera. I spent the majority of the route hanging out of the minivan, holding onto the "oh shit" bar, and snapping pictures of nearly every display.
