For those of you who know me, you know my optimum drunk maintenance level is three glasses of wine. No driving but still able to function without wishing I were dead in the morning. Last night Chris and I went to dinner...I talked him into taking me to the yummiest salad bar ever at Ruby Tuesday's so I could eat obscene amounts of salad. After dinner we decided to have a drink at Charlie Brown's.
Charlie Brown's is a quiet little bar with great couches and a fireplace. I had two glasses of wine and was considering stopping there and heading home. The waiter was very persuasive and talked us into another drink. And, yes, I assure you, he had to work very hard at convincing us. :)
We had been noticing the people around us the entire evening.
There was a couple off to the right who seemed to really have some chemistry. There was a table full of people speaking another language and I just couldn't seem to figure out what they were speaking. Directly across from us there was a cool couple who were really into each other and seemed to have a great time.
As the evening progressed we watched as the couple off to the right drifted apart. The woman became noticeably irritated, seemingly at nothing, and the man developed the "Holy crap, what just happened" look accompanied by a deer-in-the-headlights face. Shortly thereafter, they left and we had to entertain ourselves for a while.
So now I was at my three glass limit and we decided to settle up and head out. After a brief discussion with my bad math skills and the tip, I noticed the cool couple across from us dancing on their couch so I said something to them. I can't remember exactly what it was but they replied and then said that they had noticed Chris and I and thought we should make a toothpaste commercial. Ha! This made me laugh and begin a 2 hour conversation with them.
A fourth glass of wine later, I was dancing with the waiter and then the cool guy from across the table. We had a great time with great people but thankfully Chris decided it was time to take me home.
And, boy, did I feel my fun today. I think in the future I'll stick to my 3 glass limit.
