I'm really branching out from cooking only smoked sausage. Last week I made pork chops and last night I made chicken. I called my sister to get some advice about how to make the chicken but she didn't answer so I decided to just wing it.
I sliced onion and garlic and sauteed it briefly in a bit of olive oil. Then I tossed in the chicken to brown it slightly. Then I added a can of cream of chicken soup using a half can of milk and the other half water. I added 1/4 teaspoon thyme and a 1/4 teaspoon celery seed and a bay leaf then simmered it for 30-40 minutes. It turned out pretty darn good! I was pleasantly surprised. I also made some whole grain rice w/ rolled barley (compliments of Rice-a-Roni) and sauteed asparagus, squash and mushrooms.
So I'm learning that I can indeed cook something other than smoked sausage and I'm excited about the possibilities. Wish me luck!

Wow that sounds pretty good!! Nice touch with the milk and water as opposed to just water.
I like experimenting with food like this. 9 times out of 10 it turns out to be quite edible. I think as you continue your experiments, you will find the same.
Good luck in the future! Also, always remember, you can turn just about anything gret by adding more heat!
