Kayak Milestone!!

I'm pleased to announce that today is the first day I was on the creek in a whitewater boat and I did not swim...not even once! Granted the water level was a pathetic +1" (271 cfs) but it still was an important day for me!

I practiced several different strokes including forward, backward, sweeps, and draws. I even practiced crossing...yes, you guessed it...the dreaded eddy lines!!! I stalled several times on eddy lines and still water but I DID NOT FLIP! I tried to ferry once but I sort of got stuck in the current and it ended up harder than what it should have but at least I tried.

Chris blew my mind a couple of times with way too much information but I did my best to keep up.

Here I am mid-way through the day after a little bit of advice from Chris.[wink wink!]

Well, maybe one day. Hopefully I'll soon have more good news about paddling and maybe one day...ROLLING!
