Kodie lives with me now and we're still transitioning...all of us. Kodie is getting better at remembering to not chase the cat. So far her biggest hurdle is keeping quiet when she's in the kennel while I'm away. Today I left her for several short bursts of an hour or so. Each time she barked constantly. Ugh. Barbara in the store under my apartment said it wasn't annoying but let me tell you it is! Well, we're working on this challenge.
Today I noticed that Kodie likes to sprawl out to sleep or relax and when she does so in the kennel her forehead goes against the side. That makes me uncomfortable just watching her sleep like that so I took it upon myself to improve the situation. I sewed her some little bumper-like things...you know like you put in cribs!

She hasn't spent any time in the kennel yet to test them out but I did learn that I fit (quite snugly) in her kennel. She thought I was nuts when I crawled in to install the bumpers. When I went to take the pictures of it she suddenly got quite protective and wouldn't get out of the kennel. I had to wait until she was distracted and snap a quick pic when she left. I hope she likes them!
Oh, one more thing. Sewing machines are awesome. I don't really know how to use mine and sew properly but it is really handy when you have a project like this that you want to get done in a jiffy. I don't use it often but I love it when I do.
