Now I'm a Netflix.com Girl!

I finally took the plunge and subscribed to Netflix.com yesterday. I have to say that I already love it and I haven't even gotten my first movie through the mail. I DID however watch one on the "Watch Instantly" option which is pretty darn cool. I'm bummed that they don't have a Mac version of their player as I would much rather lay in bed with my laptop and watch the movie. Instead I had to sit in the living room and watch it on my desktop PC. It wasn't dreadful by any means just not ideal.

I'm also excited about Netflix.com because they have so many titles. I really like documentaries and the wee-little video stores here in "my town" Kentucky sometimes don't carry the documentaries that I'd like to see. My first Netflix viewing was "Born Into Brothels" about the children born to prostitute families in the red-light district of Calcutta. Very good movie, by the way. Certainly not something that makes you feel all giddy inside and makes you want to go get an ice cream cone but a good movie to help you examine your life and priorities, which is one reason I like documentaries. You often can get an idea of how someone else lives.

As for that first movie that's been shipped from my Queue? Oh yes, definitely a movie of great social and political import...HAPPY FEET! Ok, I give, I'm probably a sucker for dancing penguins. They were my favorite in Mary Poppins anyway.
