Double Lemon Shot

I went to a friend's 50th birthday celebration tonight at The Ketch in Lexington. There was cake and hot wings and lots of drinks and good laughs. I was driving a friend so I maintained my one-drink limit. After a few hours the party was trying to move to another location. Instead we ended up having another drink at the bar. I ordered the wild and crazy ice water. We all had a good laugh and I'm just fine being the "dork" drinking ice water. (Plus it happens to be my favorite drink)

Once my water arrived my eyes lit up with excitement...IT CAME WITH LEMON...WHOOOHOOOO! After a few goofy comments, I came out with, "Watch out, two lemons and this shirt is coming off!" My friends took it in stride as I'm always saying goofy things like that to lighten the fact that I'm always the DD.

After about 30 minutes the bartender brought me a shot with double lemons and told me it was from John, who was our waiter all night and also happens to have a birthday tomorrow. I cracked up and toasted to John across the bar. I have to say I was a little leery. I took a sniff and then a quick sip and acted as if it were tequila. Then I took a quick bite of the lemon and downed the rest of the shot. My friends were quite surprised and asked me what it was. I grinned and said, "Water with double lemon. My favorite!"

We all got a good giggle out of it. Before I left I gave John a big hug and thanked him for the best shot ever. Unfortunately for him my shirt stayed on tonight but we did have a good laugh.
