For starters I'd like to ask all of you to keep my friend Landra in your thoughts. She was sent to UK Hospital with a brain aneurysm and has successfully undergone a procedure that wraps a platinum coil around the weak spot in the blood vessel. However, she is not out of the clear yet. She remains in great spirits in the Neurosurgery ICU but at any time in the next 17 days or so could experience complications and, well, be gone. It's amazing to me when I visit her because besides the tubes, IVs, and other medical paraphernalia it is as if there is nothing wrong with her. But in reality she has a long way to go before she is considered safe.
I do have to say she's got a great team of people working with her. One of my best friends is a neurosurgeon resident at UK and has been very helpful at helping me understand what it all means. Thank you Matt!
