Finally, I've found people like me. Hallelujah!
This past weekend I went on a hike with a crew from thebackpacker.com and finally found people like me. People who love walking in the woods for long distances while carrying everything they need on their backs. People who think about the next time they'll be on the trail when they're driving home from the trail.
It's the best of both worlds. There are cool people who like to hike mega miles and people who like to hike a little slower. Saturday we hiked about 7 miles and on Sunday we split up into two groups. I joined the "mega milers" and we hiked 9 miles in 3 hours...with full packs! I'm so totally stoked!
Kodie and I both had a great time. And they're cool with my trail dog. Yeah!
So, hopefully, my future posts will be a lot of trip reports.

Well, I'm always thinking about my next trip to the trails when I'm on my way home from the last, but I have to admit, I like to do my trails on the back of a horse than by foot. Maybe it's my age, maybe it's just because I'm so darn horse crazy. lol
Yeah, I can understand that too. I've ridden horses for 20+ years. But I have to say I honestly prefer being on foot when it comes to the woods. Something very satisfying to me to do the work myself...and being able to camp anywhere flat enough to hold my tent.
Thanks for reading! I'll check out your blogs.
