Tile Pro

Oh yes. I am now a pro at tiling. Thanks to my brother-in-law who taught me everything I know, I will probably tile every square foot of my house. The good news is once I'm done you'll be able to have a food fight in any room. ;)

This section is my first solo project. I did everything all by myself. I have some more to do above the shower head just for good measure but I need more tile and the tile store isn't open on the weekends.
However, tomorrow will be my first real shower without vinyl coating my shower. I'm totally stoked.


You might also wonder why the tile doesn't match. This was the very start of the "minor" plumbing repair that quickly turned into major repairs. We had to rip out all three walls of the shower because they were rotting.

And the tile is Goldust Florida Tile 4 3/8, which they don't make anymore. There is one company in Lexington that sells Florida tile. So we went there to get something that would look decent. This was the conversation:


Tile salesperson: "You want Florida tile? What color? Your choices are white or bone."
Me: "White or bone? Are you serious? Two colors? That's it?"
Tile salesperson: "Yes, which would you like? White or bone?"
Me: "Ugh. I guess give me bone. That sounds browner that white."


And I left with my bone tile and disappointment. But that all changed when I learned to tile myself.
