Uptown Hounds Dinner - Review

At the risk of being a foofy dog owner, I'm becoming an Uptown Hounds Member.

[and by the way, it doesn't mean you're a foofy dog owner]

Last night Kodie and I attended a Member Dinner there and I had a blast.  And it ended up to be an extremely small world.  I sat at a table with a lovely couple who, we discovered, had Kentucky Horse Park connections, Versailles connections, and Best Friends Obedience connections.  I don't think I even have to say that we had plenty to talk about throughout the dinner.

I also discovered that the woman with whom I've been emailing about the event boards her horse at a friend of mine's place.  She also knows my two friends from Michigan!

Here we are with our dogs enjoying the main course.

There were about 12 people there and I think 13 dogs.  Here were the menus:

PEOPLE MENU:
Salad of Apples, Caramelized Walnuts, and Cheese, with Apple Cedar Vinaigrette
Papperdalle with Braised Leeks and White Wine Sauce
Roast of Beef with Garlic Bourbon Jus
Baked Cinnamon Sugar Apple with Crumbs and Cream

CANINE MENU:
Chicken with Rice and Vegetables
Oat and Apple Napoleon

And it was even more delicious than it sounds.

And I have to tell on Kodie - lil' miss I eat everything and sometimes have to visit Dr. Eckert because I eat everything - who didn't eat everything.  She daintily picked the chicken out of the main dish and left the carrots and the rice.  It took her about 15 minutes to do that.  This is the same dog that I had to spoon feed the special diet to after she ate the Bluejay because she inhaled it so fast I was afraid she would choke. Remember that?

However, like me, she polished off her dessert without hesitation.  :)

[I'll post about the benefits of Uptown Hounds membership separately.]
