13 Years Ago Today

Today is my 13th anniversary of moving to Kentucky.  When I packed up my 1985 Chevy Celebrity I was hoping Kentucky would change my life...and oh, has it ever.

I love living here.  Will I forever?  I'm not sure but I sure do love it now.  Here are some really fun/cool things I can think of that I've done or seen in the last 13 years.  [in no particular order]
  • Watched a buffalo's birth
  • Foaled many a mares
  • Rode an American Mustang down Pennsylvania Avenue for Clinton's inauguration
  • Exercised horses in the mountains of Southern California
  • Narrowly escaped being raped/killed by a camel
  • Worked at Disney World
  • Watched a Walking Stick in the Red River Gorge
  • Learned to Ballroom Dance, pretty doggone good I might add
  • Partied in the streets for UK Basketball National Championship win
  • Mowed with a batwing
  • Raised 4 goslings
  • Passed with my dog through the Therapy Dog Certification Test
  • Became friends with Frosty the Snowman
  • Learned & watched how [very old] remains are excavated by archeologists
  • Attended a dinner at the Governor's Mansion
  • Reunited a baby wildebeest with its mother
  • [Attempted to] Whitewater Kayak
  • Touched a wild pony on the AT in Grayson Highlands
  • Visited New York City
  • Lived in Chile for 8 weeks
  • Bought a house
  • Repelled in the Red River Gorge
I know that's not the full list but it's what I can think of right now.

Thank you Kentucky.
