Don't Pledge Your Floors

Take it from me, DON'T PLEDGE YOUR FLOORS. And don't Endust, Old English, or Dust-Off them.

I had this brilliant idea when I realized I was out of Swiffer Dry Wipes, which I love. Then I decided rather than go buy more I can "just make my own reuseable wipe."

This is the part of the post that I like to call: When Good Ideas Go Bad.

I proceeded to fashion a cleaning cloth around my Swiffer device with safety pins.  I took my newly developed contraption out to the deck where I promptly spray it with an off-brand, Pledge-like product.  I proceeded to clean my floors with glee.  After the dry dusting I then used the Swiffer Wet product to "mop" the floor.

Later in the evening as I stood in the kitchen gazing across my newly cleaned floors, I thought they really seemed shiny.  I was so proud.  No trash, no cost, no problem.

And then I walked to the bedroom, turned the corner, and nearly broke my neck.  Thank goodness I was barefoot.  Had I been wearing socks?  Definitely 12 weeks of traction and a possible limp for the rest of days here on Earth.
